on our way to South Africa with a hope and dream to become parents.

Yes my hubby's a goose and this is us on the jet and on our way to South Africa with a hope and dream to become parents.

We opted to use Donor Egg IVF in Cape Town SA instead of in Australia because it was too hard to find a donor in Australia.
We would have loved to have found a known donor but there is a massive shortage of donors in Australia because it's illegal to pay for donor eggs.

There are no donor egg clinics and so like us most ozzies are forced to head overseas.

We travelled thousands of miles away to SA because at the time the only other person that I knew who'd used an egg donor had done the same thing.

We found a company based in Sydney who organised my medical protocol and coordinated with the clinics. They had worked and had a relationship with a Fertility Specialist and Egg Donor agency in Cape Town.

This helped us enormously to feel more at ease and trust the process.

We were both excited and nervous and made a pact with one another that whatever happens we'll have a fabulous holiday and so for me this pic sums it up.

ADVENTURE!

Are you planning overseas donor egg iVF? Or have you already had an experience?

I'd love to know.
